Greek Grandfather is healed and captures the heart of God … Praise report from K

On Thursday 28th July I received this praise report from a friend “K”.  Many of her stories are posted on this blog, and I know more will come because she has chosen to take God at His word and believe what He says in the Bible about what and who we are in him.  This was just one of four praise reports she sent …

She writes:

Office Healing:

A lovely elderly gentleman in our office had a quadruple bypass last year. This winter season he has been struggling with a chest infection that just won’t seem to heal. He said it was related to his operation last year when they had deflated his lungs during the operation. So I asked him if he believed in God to which he replied yes, he was Greek Orthodox. I explained to him that I have been challenged by the scripture in Mark 16:17-18 where it says: ‘And these signs will accompany those who have believed: in my name…. they will lay hands on the sick & they will recover’ I either believe or I don’t and if I do, then I have to activate it.

So I asked if I could lay hands on his chest & pray for him. At which he replied yes, that would be good. (He’s Greek so imagine the heavy Greek accent!) I then thanked God for this gentle man that has such an amazing heart for his family & others. I then commanded the infection to go in Jesus name. I then felt compelled to pray healing, favour & blessing over him and his family. He thanked me very much when I had finished & we went back to work. That afternoon he took the time out to come downstairs and thank me again and said he was going to claim the blessings!

Yesterday he reported to me that he saw his doctor on Monday who was astonished to see that there was no more infection in his lungs! Praise God! & Yay God!

What are we all activating in our lives?  I think we are activating something, I do not think we can remain neutral, even if we want to.  I believe that we are either activating God’s word in our lives, which seems to activate His power too … or we are activating something else …

A post script came in from “K” about this gentleman on 4th August 2011.  She writes:

And, an add-on to the Greek grandfather in our office. He shared a story where he had left is wallet at the swimming pool. Got home & realised he didn’t have it. Went back to the pool, but on the way asked God to help him find it.  When he got to the pool, the lady at reception asked him if his name was “P”, he said yes, she said I have your wallet. So now he wants to know more about this prayer thing! God is sooooo good!

I suggest that we need to activate God’s truth, because His truth will always give us “…a future and a hope …”(Jer 29:11).  His truth is not only remarkable for us in our lives, but in other people’s lives as well … it is contagious; it is wonderful, for both us and the others we meet, like the precious Greek Grandad that has caught the vision that his prayers get answered.  We need to stop for the one, as we go because …

From our lips to God’s ear … calming the storm at Mt Kosciusko, Australia’s snowy mountains

My husband loves to ski, but has not been skiing for many years. His sister was heading up to Kosciusko for a week and I suggested he go with them … after thinking about it … for about 3 seconds (no he did take longer than that), he decided to go for it, and in a matter of days was all booked to go.

He had his first day of skiing today.  He was up at Perisher and there was a weather warning – everyone was advised they should head down the mountain due to anticipated oncoming high winds and a lightning storm.

People started to leave and the ski lifts closed.  He stood and thought “No” and he spoke to the storm in the name of Jesus … to be still …

The storm never eventuated, and the lifts opened…

He, his sister and her husband kept skiing all afternoon.  Many had already left the mountain, and so they skied with very few people on the mountain, and in all had a delightful day skiing both Thredbo and Perisher …

That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” … A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. …

He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.

He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

(Mark 4:35-41 NIV)

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

(John 14:12 NIV)

My husband was determined to ski, and so he stepped out into his authority, spoke to the storm, and it was stilled.  A storm diverted, and he could ski because …

Salvation at the hairdressers – God is Good!

I was up at the hairdressers last Wednesday (27th July 2011) and I was offered a free blow wave by the salon.  I was planning to just have a dry off, which means they do not style it thereby saving time, since I was tired and wanted to get home; however, when the offer was made I felt Holy Spirit say “take it, say yes” and so I did, wondering why, and feeling a bit embarrassed receiving it.

C was washing my hair.  I had said to her earlier that she seemed to be in a good place .  She looked at me and quizzed me how I knew.  I did not realise that she had known about G, who was the young guy that I had prophesied to two years ago, and who had told me recently what an impact the written prophetic word had made – he carried it in his wallet and read it regularly (see below for link to related story).  In any case, G had undergone quite a change.  He no longer dressed in a very “camp” way, but had seemed to tone it down, and I wondered if that was in direct relation to the word I had written which was full of God’s love and acceptance for him.  C mentioned it, and agreed with my observation, and she was intrigued by the whole event …

C was going to blow dry my hair and she started chatting about it all, commenting on how much the written prophecy had impacted G and how she marvelled at being able to do that.  She then went on to say that she was frightened of dying … I sat and listened thinking “what are you up to God?

As she spoke I suggested that everyone could hear from God, because He loved us all, Christian and non-Christian, and He spoke to us all more than we thought.  She agreed that he loved us all.  I found out later that C had come from a Catholic background, having been brough up in “the faith” with an Italian background, but without a personal relationship with God.

When I said she could hear from God too she seemed excited.  I went on to explain that we all had a “God space”  (see http://www.refocussing.com.au/godspaces) and that He wanted to connect with her so badly He would let her know where He was for her right then, in the salon as she was drying my hair (and I held my breath as I said it trusting God would show up!).  So, as she dried I suggested to ask Him where He was for her and she said “Jesus, where are you for me right now?” and then her eyes lit up as she looked at me in the mirror.  I said “where is He?”  She replied “He is right above me looking down”

I thought of the woman in Myers from last year, who had asked Jesus to come closer and closer, and then asked Him to come in her heart (see below for link) and I said to C “Do you want him to come closer?”  She replied “yes” so I said to her to ask Him to come closer.  As she did, she lit up more and I said “where is He?” and she said “right next to me on my right”, and she motioned to the place.

I said again, “do you want Him closer?”  She did and so she asked Him closer and He came closer, and was right next to her, as she invited Him closer I could feel the anointing increase.  I then said, “do you want to ask Him into you, so you have Him inside, do you want to ask Him into your heart?”  She looked at me in the mirror, all excited and said she did and so, as I watched her in the mirror, in the middle of the busy hairdresser, as she dried my hair she said “Jesus, come into my heart” and as she did her face changed.  She told me she felt a “shift”, and she felt completely different.  She said she was full of joy, and she looked it!

I then suggested she say sorry for being away from Him, to accept what he did on the cross for her etc, which she did and she looked so delighted she looked like “the cat that swallowed the canary” except it was that she had taken in the saviour of the world instead …

We kept talking.  I asked whether she felt any more fear of dying … she stood and thought for a moment and said “No!”  She was so excited!

I then told her about the gift of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus said that he would not leave us as orphans and that when He left He would send another, the Holy Spirit.  I quickly explained the gift of healing, the gift of prophecy which she was so intrigued with, and the gift of tongues, and there, in the hairdressers, I prayed for a baptism of the Holy Spirit, and for an impartation of all three gifts … and she quietly started to pray in tongues.

I gave her a cuddle and told her about the angels around her, dancing and celebrating at her new life,  told her about the angels in Heaven, and the great crowd of witnesses that were all celebrating and dancing, and as I did a little dance to the groovy music playing in the salon to make my point … her beaming the entire time.

I gave her my personal details, suggested she read the book of John as a start and encouraged her to plug into a local church, making a few recommendations and giving her details of her preferred choices next service … she very excitedly said she would go, and would take her brother with her … I thought ooo another saved soul on the way to Heaven …

I left that night with a blow wave, and she left with her salvation intact … she left her fear of death behind in her old life, having stepped into the new … alive to Christ, ready to get to know her God, ready to hear from Jesus, ready for a fullness of life with the Holy Spirit, and I know she will if she pursues it (as I think she will) because …

God is Good!.

Praise report – a blessed wedding for Sammi; a healing for Sammi; and another healing for Sammi … the double portion!

I was out and about Monday 25th July 2011 and had stopped, prayed, prophesied and bought coffee for a few people.  M (my four-year-old) wanted to go to a particular shop where Sammi worked.  I hesitated and checked with God and felt to go too, thinking that M’s desire could have been God inspired and so we headed up to the store.

As we walked in I was surprised to see Sammi – she had been given work at Highpoint and I had thought she had already left.  She looked up as she served another customer and said “hello”.  I motioned that I would wait to see how she was getting on.

I had prayed for Sammi a number of times, the last time being for her back and she had been relieved miraculously of the extreme pain , but then I had heard from the girl that she worked with a few days later that the pain had returned the following morning. See below for links.

I asked Sammi about her back, telling her that I had been told that her back had got bad again the day after I had prayed, and what she had to tell me was surprising and encouraging to say the least.

Sammi said that after the prayer she had been great.  Pain had returned, but on the other side of her back, lower down.  She said it had been so bad she had an MRI.  The great news was that the scan showed that she had been COMPLETELY HEALED where the original bulging disc had occurred (where I had prayed for her); but what the MRI also showed was that she now had a different problem, lower down, a bulging disc further towards the small of her back on the other side to where it had been originally.

She told me that she had been healed when I prayed for her, and that it had been so complete that she had been amazed and had told her Mother the entire story, saying to her Mother that she had healing in her hands (she did because I had prayed for an impartation of the gift of healing the last time I saw her).

She then went on to tell me that she had been in so much pain with the new problem that she had taken 2 weeks off work.

I listened and felt that it was a spirit of infirmity.  The last time I had prayed for her I had felt she needed to ask Holy Spirit to fill her up, but she had said she did not need to do so.  I had later told a friend about the whole experience and about my puzzlement (and my obvious sense of discouragement) about how she had seemed to “lose” her healing and he responded something like: “Clean out the house … and if you leave the house empty, 7 more will come and occupy” (referring to Matthew 12:43-45).

I asked her if she wanted me to pray and she enthusiastically said “yes”.

I laid my hand on her lower back and she commented on how hot my hand was … I could feel it too.  I prayed and mentioned to her the scripture above, asking her if she knew it … she did.  I said to her that I felt she needed to make a recommitment to Jesus and so she did, giving Him her heart and asking Him to fill her completely.  I then said to her that I know she felt she was full of the Hoy Spirit but I just felt she needed to ask Him in to fill her up too, she did.  I said that the Holy Spirit would displace any spirit of infirmity in her back.  She again prayed asking the Holy Spirit to fill her up.

I asked her how her back was and she said the pain had shifted down further … and I thought “caught”, recalling how Randy Clark had taught that if the pain shifted as you prayed it could be a spirit of infirmity, and if the pain started jumping around to feel encouraged and go for it.  I explained that to her, encouraging her that it had shown itself and was on the way out …

There were a few other issues I felt she needed to forgive around her wedding.  She prayed forgiveness and continued to ask the Holy Spirit to fill her, my hand hot on her back.

As I finished up I said try it out.  She moved around, touching her toes and twisting it and said it was great … nearly all gone.  I asked her if 100% was pain-free, where was she? and she said 95%.  I said “great, lets give it one more go?” and so I prayed some more and she looked and said all the pain was gone … She smiled saying how nice it was to be pain-free.

I went over to the counter with her and gave her my numbers, knowing that I would probably not see her before she left on Thursday, and as I did the new Manageress said “are you a healer?” I responded saying “I am a Christian, the Bible says that these signs shall follow those that believe, they shall lay hands on the sick and be healed, I just choose to believe that and do that, so in a way I am a healer, but really I am just a Christian that believes what the Bible says”.

I left absolutely delighted.  Sammi had been healed.  The pain had not come back the following day, but rather a different issue had erupted. I had been so disappointed when I had heard that she had regressed, but the girl who had told me this had not got the story straight … Sammi’s back had been healed (with a scan to prove it) but another issue had occurred …

The first time I had prayed for Sammi I had felt she needed to ask the Holy Spirit to fill her up.  I felt encouraged that I had probably heard correctly, and that God had, in His mercy and loving kindness given Sammi a second chance at being filled with His goodness and healing grace, to be free of whatever it was that was afflicting her …

Sammi had received the double portion – two healings, a second chance, and had tasted, felt and seen that …

toothache, heartache … God cares about it all

Thursday 7th July 2011, 4 year old M and I popped into the local hairdresser to buy some shampoo.  I had kept forgetting but I felt that God had reminded me while out this morning and, strangely, while there I felt to ask, on the off chance, whether there was anyone available to cut M’s hair.  Usually they would be booked out, but someone was available and so, after a chat about the cost (usually more expensive for kids on a Thursday) we were given a 40% discount rate rather than a 20% discount rate, and M delightedly made his way to the chair …

M happily sat down, put in his order for a hot chocolate and chocolate chip biscuit and proceeded to chat to the girl that was cutting his hair.

As I sat I had a chat to a young Mum with foils in her hair.  She had a petite 16 month old and as we chatted about “Mummy stuff” she told me that her daughter was having trouble with teething.  I remembered the miracle of the teething 1 year old who had slept through from the night I had laid hands on his Mum and prayed for him (see links below for story and praise report).  I mentioned this to the Mum and offered to pray.  She said she was a Catholic and had not ever heard of such a thing.  I replied that I had decided a couple of years ago to believe the word in the Bible that said: “these signs shall follow those that believe … they shall lay hands on the sick and see them healed”.  From that time on I told her I had seen healings take place, and I told her a few more testimonies of God’s goodness.

She went to have her hair rinsed so I went in with her and laid hands on her daughter.  I released peace and told her daughters body to cut teeth without pain … and when I felt it was enough I stopped.

The Mum kept chatting to me and I felt to ask her if she wanted the gift of healing.  She said yes.  I sensed that she was intrigued and so I said to her that I felt she would check it out and that she would be shocked to see God heal people.  She gave me her hands and I prayed as I knelt before her – she was having her toner put in her hair by a male hairdresser who watched and listened as I prayed.

Once I finished praying for an impartation of the gift she started to tell me about her problems in her 5 year old marriage and how it had been really tough.  I again said give me your hands and I prayed.  She felt her heart tighten and I said to her that I believed she would go home and think about this and that she would ask Jesus “where are you for me right now?”  I told her she would feel Him and I said when that happens she should ask Him to come into her heart (I did not feel to lead her to Christ then and there).  I told her from that time on things would change for the better for her and that she would be amazed.  She agreed.

As I spoke I talked of God’s love, that there was no sickness in Heaven.  I told her about how I had given the young man washing her hair a word from God about 18 months earlier (he said – “that was you!? I keep that in my wallet.” And he said something along the lines of how special it had been to him).  I explained how God had wanted us to know how loved we were regardless of what we had done, who we were, how we lived, that He loved us regardless.  The guy doing her hair nodded all the way through as I spoke.

The girl listened and as we spoke her husband rang.  Coincidence? I think not.

As she spoke to him I prayed for them, for unity in the marriage.  When she finished I prayed for her again, and spoke unity and peace, joy and the “shalom” of God.  I explained briefly what that meant.  I finished praying and gave her my number telling her about how some people I had met as late as a year later had called me.  We spoke for a little longer and I said goodbye, encouraging her as I went to ask Jesus where He was and ask Him into her heart, and I confirmed that things would shift for the better.

I left … encouraged that the meeting was not by chance.  The discounted hair cut was not by chance.  Remembering to buy my hair shampoo that morning was not by chance …

I left encouraged that a word I had given, so very nervously, just after I had completed a prophetic course, had impacted a young man so strongly that he still carried those pieces of paper that identified how much God loved him …

God has a plan and a path for our lives … most of us just need to know how loved we are by Him, He will do the rest …

The impact of the words written in love to a young man … the impact of offering to pray … the impact of chatting to a young Mum who looked all shiny on the outside, but was hurting so much on the inside … the impact of speaking the Truth of God’s Kingdom, of healing and love and joy … the impact of taking the time to stop and chat, although I had many other things I could have got on with …

The impact of it all I will never really know, but that young man is an indication and an encouragement to me because, I know it I will just stop, step out and release His love to people as I go those around me will start to see that …

God is good!

Praise report – God is Good dated Saturday 5th March 2011

http://godisgoodstories.com/2011/03/07/praise-report-god-is-good-saturday-5th-march-2011/

He was dying … but then he lived … because God is Good! August 2010

So many of us attend functions, schools, seminars … on healing, miracles, signs, wonders, God’s power, His will for our lives … We get excited, even convinced that we will use all that God has for us, but then we freeze, fear grips, or we are tired, want a rest, or just do not want to face rejection … or perhaps in the moment we truly believe we will step up and out … but then we get “busy” and we forget the thrill of feeling, hearing, learning about and from God … and life gets back to “normal” …

This is a story from August 2010.  It is a longer story but I think worth the read.  I had attended Randy Clark’s Healing School 1 in Sydney, at great cost and effort to myself, my family, and those that offered to help out while I was away.  I had prayed for a few people while in Sydney … seen a girl be healed of nasty hay fever (God is Good) and now I was at the airport … relishing the last few hours I would have to sit quietly with a coffee and start to read a book I had just purchased from the school.

God had other plans …

I went to get my coffee.  God said that I was to pay for the order for the people behind me.  I did.  They were shocked and blessed.  I was thinking about my book and the half hour I had to sit and read.

I then went to the desk to see if I could get a better seat – praying for God’s favour.  I got it!  I got a seat in the first row or two in economy, so that (as the girl at the desk said), I could get off and see my kids quickly after being away.  I felt to offer to pray for the girl.  She readily agreed and I imparted favour, received a word of knowledge that she was a single Mum (which she was) and prayed for her future, for a wonderful person to come, her “knight in shining armour” that would treat her as she deserved to be treated – a princess.  I also prayed for favour for her trip that she was about to take.  She responded amazed and I could see she felt truly blessed.  God is Good!

Again, thinking “that must be it” I wandered over to the gate with my coffee and book.  There was a really cute little “poppet” who kept smiling at me so I pulled out some biscuits and offered them, with the parent’s approval.

I made myself comfortable again and started to get into my book … when the girl nearly opposite me took a phone call and screamed and started to sob.  I tried to ignore it … someone else went to her aide and I felt that I just wanted to be quiet and read … but the prompting got so strong I put my book down and went over to offer to help.

Her name was H.  She was on her way to Melbourne.  Her dad had just come out of surgery for prostate cancer and she was going down to see him.  The phone call had been her sister calling to tell her that there were complications and that her dad was dying … his heart had stopped and they were trying to revive him and he was unlikely to be alive when she got to the hospital.

The other woman sitting with her was obviously a Christian and was comforting her well – far better than I could.  I thought … “well, I’ve been to Healing School, there was a word during the school for healing of prostate cancer and my own Dad had died of the disease … I had a right of pay back and I had the anointing for healing of prostrates because it had been released at the conference”.  I quickly explained this to her and asked if I could pray … and I did with the other woman looking at me as if I was crazy because I was calling “life and not death” … I thought to myself “what am I doing … what if he dies?“ but I kept on regardless.

With the prayer out of the way I gave her my card for support in Melbourne and said to her I would try to arrange for her to sit next to me on a seat further back, to keep her company … or she could take my seat to get her off the plane quickly, and went to speak with the hostesses.  Instead, they gave her a business class seat and promised to keep an eye on her throughout the flight …

We got on the plane and there was a very angry American.  He was very offended at me for having a large bag on board and refused to move his bag, even when the air host tried to get him to help.  I found somewhere else for my bag, refusing to get angry and offended back although I had felt shamed before everyone …  I had got on board late due to the “event” with H.

Once lunch had been served and cleared God made it clear that I was to apologise to the American and the fear physically spread up my lower back.  I apologised, especially since God made it clear to me that He did not want the American to carry an offence.  He forgave me, melting as I gave an unreserved apology.  I climbed back into my seat and again tried to settle to read, but as we started to ready for landing I got a head ache and so stepped out and asked if the guy next to me had a head ache … he didn’t, but after chatting I ended up praying favour for his family and kids and for an upgrade for him – he was travelling overseas and this was his first leg of the trip.  He said he would ask for a better seat on to the overseas destination where he was going after I told him about my favour with seating and another friend’s favour that I had prayed for an upgrade and who had received an upgrade to business class going to the States  … on tickets that “just could not be changed”.

And H … The long and the short of it … her dad survived and to follow are the emails that I received …

Sent: Tuesday, 24 August 2010 12:39 PM

We met at the airport on Sunday. I just wanted to say thank you for being there for me and thank you for your prayers. My dad is still fighting he is in intensive care but improving every day.

… you and the other lady were two angels by my side and I can’t thank you enough for being there for me.

When I got off the plane I found out that his heart had stopped and they had to resuscitate him, that’s why my sister got the call from the hospital to tell her to come in.

We are praying that he recovers, but he is still really unwell.

I just want to thank you so much you are an amazing person, and God bless you for being there when I needed someone by my side

Lots of love

H

She later wrote in response to my email:

 On 27/08/2010, at 4:11 PM

Hi …,

Thank you for your kind offer and for continuing to pray for my dad.

Our priest came past and read a few prayers for him, and you are right miracles do happen.

He [is] doing so much better today, his doctor can’t believe how well he is [emphasis added] compared to how he was on Sunday.

Thank you again …

And again she wrote:

Hi …,

That would be nice thank you [author’s note: in response to my asking if she would like her dad prayed for by our church’s prayer groups]. When my sister called me last Sunday they took 20 minutes to resuscitate him, by that time I was on the plane and didn’t get the update of how he was until we landed. [Author’s note: she was told at the airport he would not live and to come straight to the hospital from the airport].

He came out of intensive care yesterday and hopefully will be home by the end of the week. Things are looking good my family is very happy and relieved how well he is doing, and he can’t wait to come home!

I leaveMelbourneon Saturday, but it has been nice spending time with the family.

Hope you and your family are well.

Best wishes

H

I am glad I “interfered”.  I am glad I stopped and helped, even though I could have left it to the other stranger that had gone to help.  The miracle happened while she was on the plane and she arrived to a father that lived … that was dying or dead in the natural when she received the phone call …

He was dying, but then he lived because …
