What you carry you spread – the honey will flow because God is Good!

Circis Avondale – joy to behold ©Beth Kennedy 2020

I returned from a daily walk last week and noted how beautiful my blossom trees looked. I stopped to take some photos:

These trees make my heart sing. It is the simple things that bring me great delight. Yes… that is a cabbage in my front garden – beauty, form and function.

I have a larger Circis Avondale at the other end of the row, but I did not have a great photo of that one to show you.

As I photographed the trees I saw many bees heavy laden with pollen.

This brought a greater sense of delight as I recognised God’s hand in the moment.

Earlier the same day a friend had sent me a word given by Mary Forsythe (Kingdom Living Ministries) for Melbourne.

Listen to the word here: Word for Melbourne

Two days before, the state government advised Melbourne residents that we were staying in strict level 4 lockdown for a further 2 weeks.

Mary heard about this, and she prayed.

As she prayed the name of our city stood out to her as Mel….bourne.

‘Mel’ means honey…

She felt God say that Mel (honey) will be born in this season. God is digging deep wells for greater capacity in the people of Melbourne. Fresh honey will come from the additional time of lockdown BUT with the extra two weeks there will also be an added pressure. Hence, it was essential we guard our hearts and minds.

For those that do not know, ‘honey’ speaks of God’s glory, His abundance, His wealth, His anointing, His favour. Honey has a natural sweetness, and it is a natural form of energy. Honey also has healing qualities: it is anti-microbal, anti-viral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Raw honey fights infection and boosts immunity. Honey has incredible wound healing properties…

The Bible describes the Promised Land as a ‘…land flowing with milk and honey‘… (see Exodus 3:8 is just the first of many references that can be found). The Promised land is promises fulfilled – a place to thrive and a place of abundant provision.

Of interest, Melbourne was born out of another golden substance – gold.

And so, with the word listened to that morning, and the bees in my garden, heavy laden with pollen to carry to the hive… I realised:

Here is an opportunity to gather the pollen for the honey.

Here is an opportunity to choose God over circumstance… not grumble and mummer… and instead say ‘BUT GOD!’

We will spread whatever we carry, just as bees cross pollinate plants as they go.

It is up to us, what we pollinate with…

Fear, harsh words, judgement, criticism…

Or will we cross pollinate with Kingdom?

Please choose God’s words of life, encouragement, kindness, forgiveness…

We will harvest what we gather… we will spread what we carry…

So let us gather Kingdom mind sets and prepare for the honey to flow.

Let’s see the gold, the goodness, and the glory in one another – call it out!

Let’s help one another grow in our capacity to carry heaven everywhere we go, so we cross pollinate, just by being who we are… in the same way bees cross pollinate by doing what bees are designed to do

And as we do, as we go, and as we beeee…. we will release His goodness, His glory, His honey because…

God is Good!

What honey are you carrying?

Is there some mindsets, thoughts, behaviours and attitudes that are inhibiting you from carrying good pollen as you go?

Can you see God’s goodness, regardless of our circumstances right now?

Please tell us about it below.

Coming out of the closet to declare that…God is Good!

I have a friend who has recently become a Christian.  In her own words she has been on a “journey” … a journey of discovery…

My friend was fearful of becoming a Christian and had believed that “the path” was wide and that there were many ways to God … but on her journey of discovery she has come to the realisation that there is one path, one way, and that way is through Jesus … as she says … none other can measure up …

My friend decided to have a summer party.  She had her party 25th February this year, on one of the hottest days of the summer … it was at least 39 degrees Celsius (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit) and the night was intensely warm.

The music flowed, people gathered into groups and danced or chatted in the balmy February evening … it was a delightful occasion and I thoroughly enjoyed being there.

As the night progressed it was time for something to be said. Now my friend had said that she had invited around 200 friends and that most were not Christians, in fact she had said that most were quite alterative and possibly anti-Christian.

So, with the time for speeches having arrived my friend took up her guitar and started to sing a song …

She sang, breathless, looking radiant and beautiful.  She sang a song to her Saviour, she sang to her Lord.  She gave her thanks and declared her gratitude and stating that God had sent His Son Jesus to die for us all … and, as she did a wave of anointing swept forth from where she stood, and covered us so powerfully I was in tears … and she had “come out of the closet”!

After the song, and the final thanks to her husband and friends, she came over.

I said to her, still feeling the Presence of God: “that was gutsy, well done!”

To which she responded … “well, I thought it was time to come out of the closet! …”

I gushed about the wave of His Presence that had come forth as she sang …

She looked and bubbled over saying that she just had to thank Him for all He had done, she wanted to release Him over her land … she knew it was right and that it was the time to publicly do so … and then she laughed and said: “well, you prayed that I would receive ‘boldness’, and so you should not be surprised that I was ‘bold’” …

I am still amazed at her courage … and her bold display of love for Jesus …

He has been good to her; and, she has been pursuing Him faithfully, seeking answers to her questions, desiring to know more … it has been a journey!

It is time for us to come out of the closet …

It’s time for us to release Heaven on earth and reveal His goodness and kindness … for it is His kindness that leads people to repentance (Romans 2:4) …

Let’s step out of the closet together … let’s declare His goodness to those around and release His Presence on those we meet … let’s share this life of wonder and joy, and as we do “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (Habakkuk 2:14) … remembering that when God revealed His Glory to Moses, He revealed His Goodness (see Exodus 33:18-19) for …

God is Good!

Even when we miss it … God is Good!

Hearing God’s voice as we go … to be in His Presence as we walk out our every day life, to hear and step in time, in tune, with His heart beat is surely one of life’s greatest pleasures and delights …

Even when we are listening … even when we hear … we can still miss the mark … He loves us thoroughly, regardless …

Last Friday I placed an order for fruit and vegetables.  As I did felt an inclination to place an order for some friends that were due to return from being overseas the same weekend …

I emailed a query about delivery times, our delivery cycle was for Tuesday, their area was for a Thursday and so I used “logic” to figure I must have heard wrong, since by Thursday these friends would well and truly be home from holidays and would be organised enough to have their supplies in the fridge … I also figured I could place the order later since their cut off time was a few days later than when I was ordering, so I figured I had time …

Yesterday, the following Thursday morning I sent a text message to my friend and received a text back saying she was ill, and had no food in the house and had done no shopping …

I instantly felt a pang of regret …

I texted back I would pray and with a full day scheduled I rang the organic company knowing full well that the cut off date was past and that they would be packing their boxes, for their last day of delivery before the Christmas break of a month … it would be a miracle to be able to arrange a box of produce!

I rang, explained my dilemma.  Thankfully they related, since they are Christians, and promised to do their best, but that they had really only bought enough produce for the current order cycle since they were shutting after this run for Christmas … I prayed for a multiplication of food and waited …

About an hour later, I received a call and was told they had enough for a small box of produce with a few extras …

So, I arranged for the delivery.

The family that received the box were delighted, but I still apologised to them for missing the mark … I knew I had needed to order a bigger box, not delay the obedience, but to hear and obey, and so they had not received their full blessing …

The moral of the story … even when we listen, and hear … we can still miss God’s voice, His will.  My role is to be obedient, not “logical”, because we really do not know what is going on in other peoples’ lives … our choice to obey immediately, or not, can impact others dramatically …

Now yes, I acknowledge that this was not a life and death situation like the bus full of children story, but still …we are a body and we need to support one another … we need to listen and obey … for …

… if you love Me, you will obey [Me] … (John 14:15)

I could have erred on generosity, rather than logic (I’d rather “miss it” and err on the side of generosity and kindness) … if we believe we hear from Him, and we all do, and if we feel we are being asked to do something that resonates with His character of loving kindness, generosity, abundance, encouraging, uplifting …then we cannot go far wrong …

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

And, as a body we need one another … with Christ as the head

From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. (Ephesians 4:16)

So we need to obey, we need to encourage one another, bless one another, up hold one another … in the natural and in the spiritual with prayer … and if we do the unity and love that we show for one another will radiate His glory for …

Stories of secret santas … God is Good!

What is it about this season that causes people to become generous-hearted?

It is more than just the season … I know this for sure, given the number of stressed shop staff that I have spoken to that have mentioned the unpleasant treatment they have been receiving from stressed and busy people racing through the shops to get “the shopping done” …

There is that, the unpleasantness, but then there is something else, an atmosphere, or an attitude which can be caught, which can be spread, which can be given away and which can change atmospheres … we can release it as we go, and in doing so it has the potential to change districts, cities and even nations … Christians and non-Christians alike can “catch” the breeze on this one, and regardless of belief systems an attitude of generosity can be caught, can infect people …

A blogger visited my site, and in turn I visited his.  His blog appears to generally be more political in nature … but there, in the midst of political comment, is a piece about the generosity of people toward strangers … a story that has impacted others in such a tremendous way that those others have then gone on and done the same … a story that in turn has inspired more acts of generosity, which in turn have caused more acts of generosity and so on … the potential is endless … His loving kindness is infectious …

I encourage you to read this simple story and marvel at how a basic anonymous act of kindness can impact others … and how in turn such an act can then resonate through a community … it is a story of how “a secret santa pays for other people’s lay-buys for Christmas” … please take the time to read … it warms the heart!

Reading this story reminded me  of my own such experience, posted over a year ago which I recount now:

We decided to go out for dinner where the river meets the bay.  It was a beautiful night.  We were all tired, but it was fun to go and as a family we headed out to enjoy a balmy Friday evening together.

The children enjoyed watching the boats, gobbled their dinner and we had a lovely evening.  I sat and finished my drink and A went to pay for our meal.

When A came back with a receipt he said “look at how much the bill was?”  Expecting a big bill, I looked and was surprised at how small it was … I thought “there were no problems with the meal, we had made no complaints, what was going on?”

I looked at A and he said “Santa paid for our meal”.

Incredulous I looked at him and said “what?”

A complete stranger had picked up our entire food bill and wished to remain anonymous – the waitress said that she was instructed to say “Santa had paid”.

We were amazed, a bit shocked … in fact rather incredulous … and felt so very blessed …

My daughter and I prayed for whoever they were and released a 100 fold, a 1000 fold return, blessing them where we sat …

I wrote a short note of thanks … “Dear Santa …” and handed it to the waitress who was beaming as she watched the Goodness of God unfold in our lives … as she watched God’s love unfold in our lives – what a witness … to us and her!

God’s goodness, His loving kindness is remarkable … a complete stranger released it upon us … we did taste and see that God is good … and as I write this testimony I am still amazed at how loved I feel by a complete stranger and by a gloriously good God!

God is Good!

Bill Johnson tell’s a story of how one person from his church in Redding California paid for a person’s coffee at Star Bucks and in doing so started a chain reaction where each person that came after them “paid it forward” … they paid for the next one, who paid for the next one … and so on and so on … the “chain” of generosity remained unbroken for some hours … something had shifted in the atmosphere … the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and had been released …

Could you be a “Secret Santa” and bless someone?  You could even be an “out there” Christian and pay for a stranger’s groceries, or bread (click here for related story) … they in turn may pay it forward …

Go ahead, be a secret Santa, but please, also, make a decision not to be a secret Christian.  Let God out of the box, take Jesus out of the Church and onto the streets, out of your Sunday and into your every day … let God out of you … let the river of life flow from within … if you do He will impact nations through you … it only takes one … with God … to alter the course of history … so imagine what an army of us could do if we just let Him out, if we would stop and pray for the one and believe what He says we are capable of in the Bible … it would be miraculous, it would be magnificent … all “the Earth would be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of God” (Hab 2:14) … his goodness, His loving kindness, because …

God is Good!

Celebrating and sharing the Goodness of God the world over…God is Good!

For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

(Habakkuk 2:14 NIV)

I love celebrating God’s goodness.  I love hearing about the breakthroughs, the healings, the goodness, the miracles … it encourages me to keep going, to keep stepping out and offer the Kingdom of Heaven to others – to believe the promises in the Bible for me, my family, my community, my country …

I love learning from another Believer’s journey … because in every story there is something to glean, to learn, to consider … just as in the parables, there is always a hidden gem …

I love celebrating with people on breakthroughs.  I love hearing the prophetic words over people – it is a glimpse into who they have been created to be by God … and in knowing that I can then encourage them to step into that identity, into that call, and I can adjust my “lens” to see them more in the way God sees them …

There is a woman on the other side of the globe, who celebrates God’s goodness too.  In the natural she is a stranger to me; even so, she is a sister in Christ, who loves Jesus with a passion … and so there is a connection …

I found her when I found a story of her son’s healing, by mere “chance” after posting one of my blogs.  The story was of her husband stepping out and praying for her son in a busy airport.  In it she honestly reflected her embarrassment as her husband prayed in public, and she shares her surprise and delight at her son’s immediate healing …

She celebrates the little things, the kisses from God, like gifts of candles from friends, recognising God’s hands in the gift because they were just the right fragrances …

She celebrates her children’s prayers being answered

And she celebrates when her family is freed of debt  in miraculous ways …

And, after reading about one of my stories where I stopped and prayed for someone in the hospital recently, she took the time to encourage me, a stranger from the other side of the world, and sent me a similar story … of how a stranger stopped and prayed for her son in emergency.  She was a brand new Christian at the time … it was a gentleman, who prayed, after which her son “mysteriously” got better – very quickly … click here – it is worth a read

What stories are you keeping to yourself?  Whose stories are you grabbing a hold of and asking God to “do again”? He is no respecter of persons, so if He has done it for one of us, He will do it for another …

I believe that we here in Australia need to get over the “tall poppy”syndrome, and yes I know it is dying, but we all need to get on with telling our stories about a Good God … and in doing so the earth will be filled with the knowledge of His Glory … We will encourage each other to live as Christians … as mini Christs … because we are all empowered to do so.

Why not step out and tell some stories, encourage some others, tell some non-Christians of His goodness, tell other Christians of His Goodness … just talk about Him and who He truly is … how He protects, loves, delivers and heals … in this life … He wants it “on Earth as it is in Heaven” … (Matt 6:10).

And, we should be telling the stories and celebrating all that He does for His family, for His kids, because …

God is Good!
