Blessing a business…blessing negotiations…God’s will be done because God IS Good!

I was scooting in the morning sunshine with my little boy, on my way to meet a beautiful friend for an impromptu quick coffee.

As I went I felt God nudge me with the idea that I was to pray for the business, for the coffee shop, and bless it … I noted the “nudge” and went on my way …

My friend has set her heart to live a naturally supernatural life (see link for one of her stories), and so we had a thoroughly good time telling each other about what God had been doing in our lives, in other’s lives through us, in others we knew … telling each other testimonies that encouraged immensely …

The quick catch up was over and I went to pay.  As I did I asked the man at the register whether he was the owner and whether I could pray and bless the business.  He agreed to prayer, even though,  as he told me, the business had been blessed when it was opened, since he was a Christian.

I was delighted to hear he was a Christian and I told him what I had felt God say to me as I had scootered to his shop.  I took his hand and invited the Holy Spirit to come … and as He came I felt the anointing and started to get words “pop” into my head …

I sensed the word “decisions” and so I asked whether he had to make some decisions to make … he did …

I then heard “negotiations” and asked if it he was in the middle of negotiations … he nodded …

I then asked whether it was around the lease hold since I had heard the word “lease”… it was …

And so with the topic of prayer established, and sensing “M’s” faith rising, I smiled and told him that I felt that this was the issue that God had wanted dealt with, the lease hold negotiations, and that this was what I was to pray about … and so I did …

I declared favour, favourable outcomes, blessings on the negotiations … favour in the deal … favour for the owner “M” and divine wisdom in the name of Jesus … I then prayed cancellation of debt, favour over the business and favour over M, calling forth favour with God and favour with mankind … all the while M looked at me in surprise …

I quickly finished up and smiled saying that God often had me stop to pray for businesses, and that they were indeed blessed after being prayed for.  I also mentioned that it was clearly the lease hold issue that He had wanted me to deal with  and I said that I looked forward to hearing how it all went …

I waved goodbye, leaving the store with my son and my scooter, full of encouragement and revelling with the delight of seeing and experiencing yet another example of how very good God is …

I will post the outcome when I find out, for I often have coffee there …

I know the outcome will be good, because God’s will had been released over the situation … God wanted a favourable  outcome for the negotiations … if He didn’t why would He have told me to stop and  pray and then given me the words of knowledge around the very issue of concern in M’s life?

This was easy … it was on my way … it was natural … and it was fun  …  it took no more than a few minutes of my day to stop, pray and release the favour and blessing of God to others …

We have a good God.

We serve a kind God.

We know a God that cares about the outcome of things … like lease hold negotiations …

We have a God that cares about blessing, favour, healing, salvation, restitution, restoration, abundance and love …

He cares about us … and those we do life with … as we go!

We have a God that loves us, but also wants to get out of us and into the world … will you let Him out?

Join me, and allow the world to see that …

Stopping for the Irish…Stopping for the one…God is Good!

Just after New Year’s my husband and I were in town taking advantage of the sales.  We had finished up in a store and were paying for our purchases and as we did I turned and spoke to a family fresh from the shores of Ireland.

The mother had spoken to me earlier, as I had tried on a summer dress.  She was kind and full of energy and enthusiasm.  Her daughter and husband were with her.  The woman and her daughter looked like they were going to the races with their pretty summer dresses on, heels and huge sun hats … gorgeous but quite out of the ordinary for shopping in inner -city Melbourne.

As we paid I overheard their daughter’s name – it was the same as my own daughter’s and so, taking the “hint” from God I checked whether I was to “stop for the one” and offer to pray … I was … and so I mentioned the “coincidence” …

I asked the young girl if she knew the meaning of her name, she didn’t, and so I told her and as I did I offered to pray for her …

I asked her parents if I could pray and the parents agreed – good naturedly.  As I prayed a blessing I started to prophesy over her … I asked her whether she was 11, she was, and I started to speak into her future … the next 10 years that would be so very pertinent to her growth and future …

The parents watched me … my husband watched them …

Later, my husband mentioned to me that he had the feeling that the mother acted a bit as if the whole deal was a bit “cute” … until a moment came when there was a shift of attitude from the mother and her focus became intense.  I believe it was possibly when the anointing became tangible, as I started to move into calling out her daughter’s destiny … when ever and what ever it was … there was apparently a definite shift of attitude …

I finished the prayer and smiled, thanking the daughter and the parents for allowing me to pray.  I asked if I could hug her and he parents agreed and as I finished hugging the daughter the mother threw herself into my arms, eyes full of tears and thanked me with an intensity that caused me to take a step back (figuratively speaking) … I was a bit overwhelmed … she was so grateful for what I had said done …

Having not been aware of the parents joking attitude at first, but discussing it afterwards, I realised that obviously some transaction had taken place that was significant for the family … I had felt the anointing … but it was obvious later due to full-on response from the mother …

We left with our goodies in our hands … business shirts in bag and a new summer dress 🙂 …

And, this lovely Irish family, that had just reached our shores to live, left with God’s promises for their daughter … His encouragement for a good future in a foreign land, where different pressures would come to play out on her life as compared to a life in Ireland, and, as I pointed out to the young girl … God obviously loved her a lot if He was going to put it onto my heart … a stranger’s heart … to stop and offer to pray for them to call out details of her inner beauty, to call out her potential and future promise …

The future is good for this young girl … and I trust and hope that she will always remember that God loved enough to speak to me about her … He let a stranger “read her mail” and call out her future …

I trust it will be an encounter that she remembers when she doubts her worth … I encouraged her that she was significant enough for me to stop, sense the heart of God for her and to step out and offer to pray … even though it was uncomfortable for me to do so …

I trust the same for her mother … when she doubts …

I trust that through this encounter with God that they will remember and hold dear in their hearts that indeed

God is Good!

Calling forth the destiny of the next generation…God is Good!

Last Tuesday I was at the local shopping centre with my two children on our last day of holidays … we had just finished shopping for my little boy’s kindy bag … and were on our way down some escalators to see a movie as a final holiday “hurrah” …

The following day I had a funeral to attend – the funeral of a friend’s mother.  She had fought off breast and bowel cancer years before and had been diagnosed and fought brain cancer last year but the fight had got too much and she went home to be with Jesus.

As I turned to go down the escalators, heading off to the movies … with just enough time to get an ice-cream and settle into our seats … I saw a woman with her three daughters follow us down the escalators, with the tell tale sign of a scarf around her head – I immediately thought of my friend’s mum and sensed it was breast cancer … I knew I needed to offer to pray …

At the bottom of the escalators I turned and spoke to the woman, indicating that I could see she was dealing with a serious illness.  She said she had breast cancer – it had been tough!  I offered to pray explaining that I had been praying for many people that were battling breast cancer recently … and she agreed.

As I prayed she felt heat cover her body, she got very hot from the head down …

I finished and thanked her, looking to her three girls, and as I did I asked if I could pray for them too …

The three girls held hands and stood before me in a line … I held their joined hands in mine and prayed for them.  I prayed for courage, peace and joy and as I did I started to receive “insight” into each of these three beautiful girls … and I began to call forth their destinies …

I looked at the eldest and prophesied into her future, telling her that I sensed she was bold, strong and noble … a tower of strength (I looked at the mum and she nodded in agreement).  I suggested she needed to continue to walk to her own drum beat regardless of what others around her were doing … that she was created for greatness … to continue to stand tall and strong … regardless of peer pressure in the next few years …

I turned to the youngest and I could feel her sweet compassion … she was gentle and carried the weight of the world on her shoulders … the mum nodded again in agreement and I told the young girl that God had created her sweet and gentle, that she was very precious to God and I prayed for her to have wisdom in what burdens she picked up, and to find wisdom for the burdens she cast down … I then prayed and asked God for this wisdom, for protection and for the strength to know how to set boundaries and say “no” when she should …

The middle daughter was standing and I could feel the pull on me of her desire to be “seen” by God … I had a moment of panic, but then settled, reassured that God would not leave out one … because God never leaves any of His children out of His plans and purposes.  As I looked I laughed and said “you are a bold one and you have a mighty gift of healing …” and I turned to the mum and said “you should get her to lay her hands upon you and pray healing in the name of Jesus” … I could feel she was fiery, full of passion – her mum smiled in agreement …

I hugged the girls and turned and asked the mum if I could hug her, she agreed and I thanked her for permitting me to pray for her … and for allowing me to prophesy over her girls …

The three of us … we got to our movie … my little boy had prayed that the movie would not start without us … and it didn’t.  We got our ice-creams; we got to our seats and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves on our last day of holidays together …

But, I may add, even if we had run late, and I discussed this with my daughter later on, what a privilege to pray and call forth the destiny of three beautiful girls … what a privilege to speak out Gods design and to pray healing for a woman, a fellow mum … a fellow human being … that is fighting for her life against a disease that we have the answer for … all in the name of Jesus …

Who am I not to stop?  Don’t we have the cure?

For there is healing in the name of Jesus … so … who am I not to stop?

We must offer what we have if we truly believe who we are …

There is healing in the name of Jesus …

We have the cure … we have the solution … if we will just believe and stop as we go and release … the cure, the answer is in the name of Jesus …

So, let’s co-partner and see Him receive His just reward … as His Bride, as His friend, as His servant …

We have the answer … we have the cure … in Jesus … SO let’s offer Him to the world so that they too may see that …

Pedicures and the Father’s Blessing…God is Good!

While away a friend gave me a voucher for a pedicure as a gift … a pedicure that I booked in for last Friday morning.

I woke on Friday, not feeling the best, and thought about calling to cancel … but I then thought that the appointment may be a “God appointment” and so I took a deep breath, and went regardless, knowing I would enjoy the pedicure in any event … and the effect of fine feet afterwards …

As soon as I got to my appointment the feeling of being unwell lifted and I happily chatted to the gorgeous girl who had been assigned to me about colour …

As I sat and had my feet scrubbed I sensed that this was a God appointment and I felt that I was to pray, a little later, for this girl with whom I had struck up an immediate rapport.

She is a mum of a four-year-old boy, and a step-mum to two teenage girls.  She lives in a large country town, not far from Melbourne, and the girls live in a Melbourne suburb, not far from where I live.  As we chatted I also discovered that her mum was a mid-wife, at the hospital where I had my two children, and as we talked even further, we worked out that her mum had helped me deliver my first child … on reflection (after the God encounter) I realised that this too was no coincidence … this appointment had been set up … way back in 2003!

As the pedicure came to an end I said “I would love to pray for you”.

She said “sure” and her eyes immediately filled with tears … the Holy Spirit was physically tangible around us.

I stood and took her hand in mine and invited the Holy Spirit to come (even though He was already there) and her eyes overflowed with tears as the anointing came even more powerfully …

I prayed as I felt led … I declared her destiny open, I declared open doors over her life, I blessed her and released favour.

I then felt to pray a Father’s Blessing over her and as I did, with my hand on her head she openly wept … and I gently kissed her on the forehead.

I asked her if she had asked Jesus into her heart – she responded “we’re Catholics, of course” so I said “just ask Holy Spirit to fill you up”. And she did … with tears running down her face.

I kissed her on the cheek and held her for a very long time as she cried, and I told her gently that she was beautiful, that God delighted in her, that she no longer had to do it on her own, and that although her natural father had not been there for her, God was, and it was time for her to go to Him … I said how she had been so very strong for so very long, but that now, it was time for her to go to Him and allow Him to take the load and, to hold her …

I briefly talked to her about going to where God was for her (her “God space“) and explained (aware of the time) that where that was would always feel safe, it would feel for her like she had felt as I had prayed … surrounded and filled with love – she nodded with me saying it had felt very safe and full of love.

I sat in the waiting room as she got me a tea and I asked if she ever came up to Melbourne on Tuesday nights … She said her partner visited his girls on a Tuesday night.  I explained I held a group on a Tuesday night for people to discover more of God … the timing another coincidence that she pointed out to me and … I gave her my details and said she would be welcome to come if she wanted … or she could just call …

Whether she calls or not, or comes or not, she has had an encounter with the Creator of the universe … she has had an encounter with God … she has had an encounter with a Father, with a loving Father, a God who is a Father who “so loved the world that He gave His one and only son … ” (John 3:16 – emphasis added) … she tasted and saw that God is Good (Psalm 34:8)…

I hope she chooses to call or email … I hope she chooses to come to our nights … where that will lead I do not know, but I do know that if she chooses to go on her journey with God, as her loving Father, as her Loving Saviour, as her Loving Friend … she will  see that …

God is Good!

Blessing businesses on holiday and a Praise Report … for God IS Good!

I am currently away at a beautiful sea-side town in Victoria, Australia (yes I am blessed!) and went wandering through some local shops with a friend yesterday.  We wandered into a local home wares store and as I passed by the counter I noticed what a beautiful looking girl was behind the counter.  I greeted her but she did not look up  … I tried again, as I purchased some soap as a gift, and she glanced at me briefly, … and, as I stood, I felt that I needed to offer to pray.

There were a few people waiting to be served, so I stood watching, knowing I was not to leave until I had prayed and so I suggested to my friend that she go on ahead and I would catch up …

I went back to the counter and, laughing, explained I was a Christian and asked if I could pray for her.  She said yes, engaging me much more directly, I asked her name, I told her mine and invited the Holy Spirit to come and glanced around the shop.  As I did so I felt God indicate that there was something about a contract or lease that was going on and so I asked her about it …

Se looked at me in astonishment and said “yes” asking me how I knew and I responded that He (God – and motioned upwards with my head as I laughed) told me … and so I prayed for favour … favour for the business, favour for the family business structure behind the business (and I asked for the name of the family business), favour for the family, favour regarding the contractual negotiations, favour regarding the lease hold, and lastly favour for her … a double portion …

As I prayed for this beautiful girl I sensed God indicate that she had deeply buried dreams in her heart, and it was time for them to be brought to the surface, and so, I prayed for this girl …I called forth her dreams and declared her destiny open in the name of Jesus, open doors to her future and favour … more favour …

I left after briefly telling a few testimonies of other businesses that had been prayed for in the area and in North Queensland, and how they had been blessed by God since … I said to her to watch for the favour to flow, I thanked her for allowing me to pray and left with her smiling and looking at me square in the eyes …

We later walked through another shop, one of my favourites in the area.  It had a lovely atmosphere and as I wandered and chatted to the owner, I noticed a wooden crucifix over the desk where the owner sat. I instantly asked “are you a Christian?” and she responded with a smile and a “why yes I am, are you?” I answered in the affirmative and said the shop had such a lovely feel to it and asked if I could pray for her.  She responded “absolutely, yes” and so I took her hands in mine and prayed blessing and favour on her business.  As I did I sensed that times had not been tough and said so I said what I felt I was hearing … she agreed … I then said “in fact times have been good” and she agreed again and so I prayed greater blessing, for more favour, for an abundance of favour, blessing prosperity, declaring that since our God was abundant let there be an abundance in her life … a greater prosperity in all things good.

She looked at me and said “I felt that!”

So, I asked “what did you feel?”

She replied, “I felt that go right up my arms” and she thanked me…

As we chatted some more in light of a place or thing having a lovely atmosphere I told her the story of the beanie knitted with love – how we had bought a beanie a while ago down the street and it felt like it had been knitted with love … and how it so turned out it had been … knitted with love by a lovely Christian woman who wept as I prayed for her … as she felt God’s love flood her body …

I said she could read about it on a blog … and she excitedly said “do you blog?” I said “yes” and gave her the details …

As she wrote them down I told her how God’s Presence had come so strongly in the second-hand book shop that I had not wanted to move and the Christian woman I had prayed for had wept as I declared God’s favour and blessing on the sale of her beloved business and leasehold …

I said I never found out what happened to the end if the story …

She told me she knew the end of the story …

She said that the woman had sold her business and lease hold, instead of just walking away from it … the story had turned out well, for the woman in question was living near her other little second-hand book shop, in a nearby town and was living a very happy life indeed …

I was delighted … I felt so blessed … I had got to pray for a beautiful woman of God, and she in turn was able to share how a prayer story (one that had intimidated me) had turned out and how God’s goodness had yet again shone through a supposedly desperate and hopeless situation …

I left full of joy, having given this woman the blog details with her excitedly (or so it seemed to me) planning to read more stories of God’s goodness because she knows, as well as I know, that…

Stepping into the Promises of God … praying for M, a young autistic boy, because God is Good!

You may recall a recent post in which I told a number of stories about stepping into our prophetic destiny … about intentionally co-labouring with God to see the prophetic word released and grow in our lives … well  I had such an opportunity yesterday …

I was out with my children and I decided to stop and buy some meat from a local butcher.  I got a great car park and walked in, past a young teenager boy who was sitting on the shop step with a yellow Labrador pup on a lead.  I smiled and pointed the dog out to my children and as I did a woman opened the door to the store and kindly apologised and told the boy to move across …

I smiled at her saying we were admiring the pup and the three of us walked into the butcher.  As I stood next to the woman she turned to me and said that the young man was her son … he was autistic, and he had got the pup as a companion dog …

I smiled and asked a few questions and as she paid for her purchase I offered to pray for her son, explaining that I was a Christian (she said she was too) and that I had received a prophetic word that I would see the autism healed … she immediately said she had prayed much, but that she would love for me to pray, and so together we walked out onto the street, I knelt down before her son, placed my hand on his shoulder and prayed and as I did I “reminded” God of His word to me that I would see autism healed …

There was no thunder bolt … there was no “hallelujah” chorus … that I could hear in any case … but I rested in the knowledge that God wanted him whole and also there was a prophetic word from a reliable prophet who had declared over me that I would see autism healed … well … here was an autistic boy, and boy oh boy, was I going to pray for him! … if his mum let me of course.

Now, he is not the first autistic child that I have prayed for … I have prayed for two or three others, all prior to the word of promise from God, but, now I had a promise from God that I would see autism healed.  As I had stood in the store, prior to offering to pray, I noted the coincidence of timing (which the mum also commented on) and my mind had immediately gone to the daughter of a beautiful friend that has a gorgeous, autistic little girl.  She has been the recipient of miracle after miracle, but who was still autistic … I thought of her healing, I thought of this boys healing … and thought … I’m going to step into this regardless, until I see it happen!

I turned after praying for him, and prayed for the mum.  She thanked me, asked if I shopped often in the area (which I did sometimes) and as we chatted I shared a story of another autistic boy I had prayed for at a nearby shopping centre, a year ago that had started to get physically aggressive, but had become very peaceful after prayer … As we parted we wished one another a Merry Christmas!

This is a little story … a short story … I do not know the end … but I tell it to provoke a reaction …

What words have been declared over your life that are lying dormant, waiting for you to pull them out, pull them down from Heaven and step into?

There are words of promise already spoken about us in the Bible … promises for those of us who believe …Jesus promises us that

“these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Mark 16:17-18)

And then there are the personal words, whether they are rhema (living) words from the Bible for you, or prophetic words spoken over you by another, or whether they be words spoken directly to you by God in your quiet time with Him …

Whatever words they may be they will be great, grand and marvellous … because we are His children and he loves to call out our purpose and our identity … the “who we will  be”, for how He sees us now, is who we will become … if we so choose to step into it with Him …

So, what words do you have?

I encourage you, as we enter a time of reflection around Christmas and New Year, to dust off your words, choose to believe them and step up into God, and out into the community, into your future …

It will be glorious … it will be grand … it may not happen over night, but it will happen if we do not give up… and it will be so very worth it for …

God is Good!

And she stood weeping … because God is good!

After church today we popped into a service station to fill up the car and to purchase a couple of items for a lunch we were heading to. I collected my items and as I went out to the car to get a discount voucher I felt certain that God wanted me to offer to pray for the girl behind the counter.

I finalised my purchase and offered to pray for her … explaining I was a Christian and I wanted to know if she needed prayer for anything.  She looked at me puzzled and so I repeated my question, explaining that I had felt God prompting me to offer to pray for her as I had walked out and so I wanted to know if there was anything I could pray for her about …

She looked at me and lent forward earnestly and immediately said “yes, a job, I am a qualified pilot and I want a job” … I looked at her and said I would pray for her and I stepped aside so she could serve the next person …

To follow was one of the longest waits.  The customers poured in.  One would leave and another would come in … (it often happens) … so I waited … but as I did I checked my watch noted my husband and children waiting in the car and prayed for an opportunity because we were due to get to a lunch … regardless, I knew to wait, because this was a God assignment and therefore important …

She looked at me and suggested that I could go … I looked and said “no, this is important” …

Eventually we had a break in the flow of customers and I introduced myself.  I noted her name and said hello, took her hand and invited the Holy Spirit to come … an anointing immediately flowed.

I recounted the testimony of a friends husband who I had prayed for, who had waited for 9 months for a contract to come through from a major bank, and for whom the day after I had prayed an open destiny, a contract came the following day by email … he quit his job and started the new job in less than a week (praise report click link here) …

I then prayed “God what you did for B, do for A” and I declared her destiny open in the name of Jesus, I released blessing and favour, and doors to be open to her destiny … as I did I could feel the anointing flow.  Someone came and waited to be served as I prayed and I felt the Holy Spirit say “that’s enough”.  I left quickly and as I ran out she again asked my name, I told her as I ran out and left calling out “bless you”.

As I left the store, I felt that I needed to give her the name of our church and so I ran to the car, scribbled the churches name and my name and number on a scrap piece of paper and ran back in to give it to her … I saw that she was standing behind the counter holding back the tears as she served the next customer …

I ran up to the counter and gave her the details, explaining them briefly to her and as I did the flood gates opened and she started to weep.  I looked at her and said “you felt Him didn’t you?” she nodded … I asked if she needed a cuddle, she said she was fine, and so I encouraged her to feel ok about calling me, and explained that this was my church …

I left marvelling at how powerfully God had touched her.  As I climbed into the car I mentioned it to my husband, explaining how I usually do not get to go back to see the impact of God on the people I stop for “as I go” … but this time I had, and how powerfully He had touched this beautiful girl … she was obviously moved, and had felt the touch of God first hand … I know her destiny is open now … I have seen it happen over and over … I know that good things are on their way for this lovely girl because …

Stories of secret santas … God is Good!

What is it about this season that causes people to become generous-hearted?

It is more than just the season … I know this for sure, given the number of stressed shop staff that I have spoken to that have mentioned the unpleasant treatment they have been receiving from stressed and busy people racing through the shops to get “the shopping done” …

There is that, the unpleasantness, but then there is something else, an atmosphere, or an attitude which can be caught, which can be spread, which can be given away and which can change atmospheres … we can release it as we go, and in doing so it has the potential to change districts, cities and even nations … Christians and non-Christians alike can “catch” the breeze on this one, and regardless of belief systems an attitude of generosity can be caught, can infect people …

A blogger visited my site, and in turn I visited his.  His blog appears to generally be more political in nature … but there, in the midst of political comment, is a piece about the generosity of people toward strangers … a story that has impacted others in such a tremendous way that those others have then gone on and done the same … a story that in turn has inspired more acts of generosity, which in turn have caused more acts of generosity and so on … the potential is endless … His loving kindness is infectious …

I encourage you to read this simple story and marvel at how a basic anonymous act of kindness can impact others … and how in turn such an act can then resonate through a community … it is a story of how “a secret santa pays for other people’s lay-buys for Christmas” … please take the time to read … it warms the heart!

Reading this story reminded me  of my own such experience, posted over a year ago which I recount now:

We decided to go out for dinner where the river meets the bay.  It was a beautiful night.  We were all tired, but it was fun to go and as a family we headed out to enjoy a balmy Friday evening together.

The children enjoyed watching the boats, gobbled their dinner and we had a lovely evening.  I sat and finished my drink and A went to pay for our meal.

When A came back with a receipt he said “look at how much the bill was?”  Expecting a big bill, I looked and was surprised at how small it was … I thought “there were no problems with the meal, we had made no complaints, what was going on?”

I looked at A and he said “Santa paid for our meal”.

Incredulous I looked at him and said “what?”

A complete stranger had picked up our entire food bill and wished to remain anonymous – the waitress said that she was instructed to say “Santa had paid”.

We were amazed, a bit shocked … in fact rather incredulous … and felt so very blessed …

My daughter and I prayed for whoever they were and released a 100 fold, a 1000 fold return, blessing them where we sat …

I wrote a short note of thanks … “Dear Santa …” and handed it to the waitress who was beaming as she watched the Goodness of God unfold in our lives … as she watched God’s love unfold in our lives – what a witness … to us and her!

God’s goodness, His loving kindness is remarkable … a complete stranger released it upon us … we did taste and see that God is good … and as I write this testimony I am still amazed at how loved I feel by a complete stranger and by a gloriously good God!

God is Good!

Bill Johnson tell’s a story of how one person from his church in Redding California paid for a person’s coffee at Star Bucks and in doing so started a chain reaction where each person that came after them “paid it forward” … they paid for the next one, who paid for the next one … and so on and so on … the “chain” of generosity remained unbroken for some hours … something had shifted in the atmosphere … the Kingdom of Heaven was at hand and had been released …

Could you be a “Secret Santa” and bless someone?  You could even be an “out there” Christian and pay for a stranger’s groceries, or bread (click here for related story) … they in turn may pay it forward …

Go ahead, be a secret Santa, but please, also, make a decision not to be a secret Christian.  Let God out of the box, take Jesus out of the Church and onto the streets, out of your Sunday and into your every day … let God out of you … let the river of life flow from within … if you do He will impact nations through you … it only takes one … with God … to alter the course of history … so imagine what an army of us could do if we just let Him out, if we would stop and pray for the one and believe what He says we are capable of in the Bible … it would be miraculous, it would be magnificent … all “the Earth would be filled with the knowledge of the Glory of God” (Hab 2:14) … his goodness, His loving kindness, because …

God is Good!

The power of one – receiving so that you may give …

We are all significant in our sphere of influence.

One tiny “random” act of kindness has the power to change worlds.

Some time last year we decided to head up to our local pizza place for dinner.  Outside was a gentle broken man, who was clearly drunk and homeless … he asked us for some money …

Instead of giving money we took him into the pizza place and bought him a take-away meal.  While there we were told by the owners that people would often buy him food there.

As we waited for his food to cook both my husband and I prayed for him, releasing healing and freedom upon him, we prayed that He would  know the love of God, and feel accepted.  As we prayed we knew we needed to take him shopping, and so, exchanging glances, I took the children to order our meals and my husband took the man to the supermarket next door to buy some supplies, to meet his needs, at least for the next few days …

The shopping excursion seemed to take an exceptionally long time, and I got quite restless, questioning why it was taking so long, but eventually my husband returned from the shopping excursion and recounted the following to us as we ate our meal …

The man was homeless, but often stayed in a shelter in St Kilda, a local suburb of Melbourne.  My husband took him round the shelves of the supermarket and asked him what he needed, and then my husband asked him what he wanted

They bought toiletries, razors, soap etc, and some basic items of food … bread, butter, fruit, vegetables.  My husband then suggested they buy meat … and the man excitedly said how great that would be and so they went and got some good cuts of meat and as they did the man said he would go back to the shelter where there was a BBQ close by and he would BBQ up a fine feast …

My husband then asked what else he would like and the man looked at him and quietly said with tears “I love peanut butter” … and so they bought peanut butter … not because this man needed peanut butter, but because this man liked peanut butter …

As they shopped the man kept saying how unworthy he felt of accepting the items and my husband kept responding that that was not how God saw him … the man wept each time my husband confirmed that he was accepted and worthy …

At the end of their shopping, before they said their goodbyes, my husband prayed with the man again … praying that he would find permanent accommodation, that God would heal him with respect to his feeling unworthy, unloved … and he prayed worth, acceptance and love … again there was much weeping from the man …

We have not seen this man again … he headed off into the night with his dinner and his supplies …

We trust he felt the love of God, not just hearing the prayers prayed, not just receiving the money spent, and not just eating the take-away meal … but through the time spent together – my husband and him, shopping together to buy items needed and items wanted … that he felt loved and accepted and worthy …

I trust the man felt loved … for a while at least … who knows the experience has done for him … but I trust the prayers have been answered …

Apparently the man left my husband joyfully planning his meat BBQ … he went into the night headed for a shelter with his supplies and with his beloved peanut butter in hand …

I recount this story, not to blow our trumpet, but to ask, who is in your sphere of influence? Will you stop for the one?

This story is told in response to a beautiful movie clip that I found on a blog site that belongs to someone who visited my blog site recently …

Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you …” (Acts 3:6)

The clip (click here to view) runs for 10 minutes … but it is a 10 minutes that is worth your time, and may change your life.  I believe it captures the heart of God as demonstrated through a homeless man who sits and receives … and then gives what little he has away … impacting others in his sphere of influence … regardless of what little he has …

It reminds me that we must sit and wait to receive from the Father … to then take what we have received (whether we think it little or big), and give it away as we go … to you the pennies or the prayers may be meaningless, but to another they change destinies …

God may be calling you to give away money, or to take a homeless person shopping … he may be asking you to stop and smile at the sales clerk … or to pray for the woman in the store where you are that clearly has a broken arm … He may just be wanting you to stop, and spend some time with Him … just because …

There is power in one … with God … no matter our sphere of influence we can change the world … one “random” act of kindness at a time … so why not “pay it forward” and give what God has given you away … and in doing so you will release a power that changes lives for the better because …

God is Good!

We have the power to bless as we go … blessing businesses and pursuing the prophetic word in a place of rest …

Words have power.  What we speak has power.  With our words, backed up by God’s Spirit we impact destinies, we impact nations … when we align ourselves with the purposes and intentions of God and release those purposes onto earth through our words – words of love, edification and encouragement.  If we will just speak out what we hear Him saying for people, businesses, countries, organisations we will move mountains …

Prophetic words spoken over our lives are perplexing and challenging at the best of times.  As a new Christian I did not understand nor realise that there was a co-labouring with God in not only believing a prophetic word, but in taking action to see it come true in my life … we do it together … not through striving, but from a place of rest in Him …

I have posted stories where I have felt led to pray for a business owner or a business. See this link here  for as an example that comes to mind.

I have prayed for business owners as and when prompted, declaring favour over them and their business, but not often have I had feed back from those businesses … it is often “as I go” and so I often do not go back …

Well, recently I had the privilege of being prophesied over.  The prophecy included that I had an anointing to bless businesses … I immediately thought of a friends business that I was going to bless locally, we had been talking about it for some time, but with this word of promise from God I thought “right, I need to do this for my friend and for her business … God has made a declaration over my life through this word … it is time to walk in this with intentionality …”

And so, a few days before we were due to go away for holidays I went around to my friend place of business and prayed and blessed it …

We then went away on holidays.

While away we visited a restaurant where I had prayed for the owner and had blessed her business 2 years prior.  The prayer had been in response to a prompting from God and I had stepped out feeling nervous, but determined.  The owner was Jewish and I released and declared the blessing of Abraham over her and her business.  I suggested she research her inheritance – she was greatly touched at the time.  On this follow-up visit she said she did remember me, and that the business was doing extremely well.

I was later told by a man who drove us to the airport (whose business I also blessed) that the restaurant had been doing well … it was always busy even though other places had closed and even though it was located in a tourist holiday town that had been struggling significantly with the recent economic conditions …

With this testimony and with the prophetic word declared over my life, I have been asking other people how business has been where I have prayed in the past.

About one year ago I prayed for another business, a clothing store, at a local seaside town.  We were back in the store about a month ago and I asked the owner how business was … she too said things had been good since I had prayed … she felt it had made a difference – isn’t God Good!

Well, there is an intentionality now, and although I feel awkward at times, when I get a hint of a desire to bless a business I step out, knowing that I have Heaven behind me … it is like I did it before the prophetic word on His prompting, and now God has encouraged me further, with the prophetic word, that He was backing me up …

Is it that if we will listen to Him and what He is wanting to do that we can in turn release blessing and favour over people, businesses, countries … and then perhaps as we step out faithfully He will acknowledge that and affirm us in the most unexpected way, confirming that he is backing up our words with all of Heavens resources …?

Prophetic words are not only for the future … they are indeed for the now

It is time for the Body of Christ to pick up the words of God … believe them and release them.

God releases His intention through the prophetic.  Yes, there is timing and grace and preparation, but there are also words, I hazard a guess, that have been released over us all that we can co-labour with, that we can pick up and walk into …

The Bible is full of prophetic declarations of who we all are called to be …

I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. (Jesus speaking in John 14:12 NIV 1984)

“And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.” (Jesus speaking in Mark 16:17-18 NIV 1984)

What are we going to believe?  The prophetic word declared by Jesus about all believers … or something else?

Are you co-labouring with an intentionality to grow the promises in your life; or, are you waiting for the great anointing to just happen?

I encourage you … step into it “for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand” (Matt 3:2 NASB 1985) … and what is more … IT”S FUN!

Water the seed of the prophetic words spoken over your life, spoken to us all in the Bible and let them grow … grow them with purpose and intentionality and you too will discover that …

God is Good.
