This is a testimony from a friend who has resolved to step out. She has captured the essence of: “we listen, we obey … He does the rest …”.
Jesus says “I will build my church” (Matt 16:18 – emphasis added); and, it is our job to extend the Kingdom … Jesus says:
“… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”. (Acts 1:8) emphasis added
“Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation …” (Mark 16:15) emphasis added
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations …” (Matt 28:19) emphasis added
We extend the Kingdom … we “go” … He builds the church … There is a going expected … we listen, we obey, and “signs” will accompany as we step out and “go” … (Mark 16:17).
Here, in this story, my friend D extends the Kingdom … she releases Heaven … she listens, she obeys … for she loves Jesus (see John 14:15) … She then leaves the rest to Him …
My friend writes:
Hi, I was at the shops one day. As I parked my car I noticed a young man in his car with his door open and his leg sticking out. His leg was bandaged.
I went into the shop to do my errand and when I returned to my car and was ready to go I felt impressed to pray for healing for this young man. I asked him and to my surprise he said, “Yes”.
I prayed and he welcomed the prayer graciously. Nothing obvious happened at that time but I believe that the Lord was doing something in this young man and his family’s life and that our prayers don’t go wasted. The Word of the Lord will not return void, but will accomplish what it is sent for. This quote is based on Isaiah 55:11.
I believe these experiences help us to continue to sow into the Kingdom and we never know what the end of the story is, but I’m assured it will be a good one.” D.
So I encourage you to go and as you go, listen (those that have ears to hear …) because He will give us assignments, if we will stop to hear … and these assignments will extend the Kingdom of Heaven … and He will build the church … the Body of Christ because …
God is Good!
